CHARACTER CAMP

Voice Acting for Teens
with Sally Clawson

In this three-day camp for teens ages 13-17, you will explore the fun and challenging world of voice acting for animation, video games, and anime.

Sally Clawson, who has voiced characters in the Lego IndianaJones series, Star Wars: The Old Republic, Monkey Island 2, and is the current owner and head of Training at Voice One in San Francisco, will walk you through the acting, microphone technique, and dubbing skills of the incredible and spontaneous world of voice acting.

You’ll walk away with a two-minute clip of yourself voicing a scene from an anime to take home and show off to family and friends! Students will also receive a certificate of completion.

This camp is great for students who are interested in acting, theatre, cartoons, anime, or video games, (or all of the above), or anyone who isn’t afraid to have fun making funny voices. So come and discover the characters within you, whether they are a warrior, super-hero, goblin, wizard, super smart save-the-world nerd, princess, cowboy, hero, villain, or the emperor of flame world!

No prior acting experience required. Limited to 15 students.
Lunch and snacks will be provided.

What will your day look like?

You’ll start the day off with acting and vocal warm ups, work on technique drills, learn character voice creation, then do scripted and non-scripted scenes.

After lunch, you’ll learn microphone technique and get hands-on practice in the studio as you work on Automatic Dialogue Replacement, or ADR, the process of dubbing an anime!

On the third day, you’ll perform actual anime scenes in the studio as your voice is recorded onto a video clip that you can then take home and show off!
