Classes this week:

Starts Monday, April 18 — Advanced • online

The Character of You with Zehra Fazal

Real acting in video games and animation is in demand and to be competitive you must master the character of YOU. No voices or dialects! Simply a version of yourself that is natural and authentic, but heightened to match the style of the cartoon or game. Let this amazing voice actor guide you to finding all aspects of you as you develop a character that no one can equal.

April 18 & 25 • Mondays • 6:30-9:30pm PDT

SOLD OUT - email classes@voiceone.com to be placed on the waitlist

Starts Monday, April 18 — Core • online

Character Playbook with Sally Clawson

Build your book of character voices through the use of creative exercises, acting basics, and impulse. Your unique playbook might include real and exaggerated voices, heroes and villains, celebrity mash-ups, and various archetypes.

Purchase this class as part of the Mix & Match Bundle or Character Core Bundle and save $120!

April 18 - May 9 • 4 Mondays • 6:30 - 9:30pm PDT

Monday, April 18 — All Levels • online

Monday Meet-Up: Audiobooks with Megan Trout

Continue to hone your skills outside of class in focused, low-cost study groups led by voice one alums who have excelled in our program. These talented voice actors will give you feedback and guidance on your reads, and offer insight into their own voice over journey.

For this special Audiobooks Meetup, students will be asked to bring their own script selections (1-3mins in length) from the genre(s) of their choice.

Time: 6:30-8:30pm PDT

Starts Thursday, April 21 — All Levels • online

Audition-Ready Audio with Jim Edgar

You have your studio gear - but simply owning good equipment is no guarantee that your sound is competitive. How do you know if it is any good? Poor quality audio gets deleted, and generally, no one will tell you if it sounds bad. In this 2-week workshop, you’ll start by sending a current recording for detailed evaluation, receive specific feedback and areas to address, and gain a clear understanding of what makes “audition ready audio.”

Handouts and resources supplied.

Prerequisites: recording equipment required, recording homework will be assigned | April 21 & 28 • Two Thursdays • 6:30-9:30pm PDT

Saturday, April 23 — Professional • online

Nailing the Audition with Emily Latka

Want to hear what a talent agent has to say as you show off your stuff on mic? PRESTO!! The planets have aligned and your wish has been granted. There’s a different agent each semester, so you can attend one or more of these informative hands-on classes.

April 23 • Saturday • 10am-1pm PDT

Guest: Emily Latka, A3 Artists Agency

Sunday, April 24 — Advanced • online

Looping Like a Pro with Holly Dorff

Video Games, Anime, Cartoons, Films, and TV shows need professional voice actors who can add background voices and dialogue to on-screen actors and characters. As the founder of Holly's LG, Ms. Dorff has looped over 600 films, and created a virtual loop group, so you can learn to perform donuts, call-outs, and add dialogue to individual lip-flap from home.

April 24 • Sunday • 10am-1pm PDT

Sunday, April 24 & May 1 — Core • in-person

Character Styles with Sally Clawson and Melissa Hutchison

This technical class compares video games, cartoons, and toys and prepares you for the performance and vocal requirements for each style. You'll explore parsing and concatenation, audition prep, and how various genres affect the style.

Purchase this class as part of the Mix & Match Bundle or Character Core Bundle and save $120!

April 24 & May 1 • Two Sundays • 10 - 5pm PDT

Wednesday, April 27-May 18 — Core • online

Breaking It Down with Jim Edgar

Assess commercial copy at a glance by breaking down the script into common copywriting themes, rules you should recognize, and writing hints that reveal the unique message every commercial script contains. Once you develop the technical muscularity required by commercial copy, you'll feel confident enough to tackle any VO script.

Purchase this class as part of the Mix & Match Bundle or Commercial Core Bundle and save $120!

April 27-May 18 • Four Tuesdays • 6:30-9:30pm PDT

Saturday, April 30 — Advanced • in-person

In the Booth with Sally Clawson

Join us at the Voice One studio and workout in the booth for some in-person, live-action direction! Sally is well known for running you through your paces and putting your hard earned skills to the test. Be ready - she'll make you sweat and like it!

Saturday, April 30 • 10am-1pm PDT

Saturday, April 30 — Advanced • online

The Inside Scoop with Jon Wolanske

Get the inside scoop on making commercials and how you fit into the gestalt. Perform and be directed on award-winning copy from the advertising superstar who created it, along with insight into the writing, audition, and selection process.

Saturday, April 30 • 2-5pm PDT

Sunday, May 1 — Advanced • online

Corporate Narration with Anne Ganguzza

Corporate Narration is one of the largest markets in the VO industry. You’ll need to have a clear vision of your potential clients, and an understanding of the intricacies of corporate culture.  In this dynamic class, you’ll discover the nuances behind corporate narration technique by telling the right story, making the message engaging, and connecting with the audience. Carpe the Corporate Diem!

Purchase this class as part of the Anne Ganguzza Bundle and save $30 by registering for both classes!

May 1 • Sunday • 10am-1pm PDT

We can't wait to see you!
