Hi Voice —
We feel incredibly privileged to announce Kay Bess as our instructor for the upcoming 4-week VO Master Class. Kay is truly one of the best in the business, and excels in every aspect of voice over from commercials, narration, and promo, to animation and video games. In 2019 she delivered what many called the most inspirational keynote in VO Atlanta history, which you can watch here.
Kay's class is for advanced and professional actors; students must meet the prerequisites (see below) or have a recommendation from Sally; home recording capability is also required. Space is limited - only 7 spots remain in this 10 person class at the time of writing this email.
If you're a newer actor, continue to focus on developing your foundational skills in the Core Curriculum and honing in your acting skills. There will be plenty more opportunities at Voice One to work with industry professionals like Kay down the road.
— Danny, Aaron, and Sally
About Kay Bess
In her 35 year career, Kay has voiced hundreds of tv and radio commercials as well as promos for every major network and cable news station. In 2013 she dove headlong into gaming and animation and, as these genres are more “acting” than “voice”, she enrolled in a rigorous two-year program in Meisner Technique. Three months in, Kay booked the role of Ana in Lara Croft: Rise of the Tomb Raider and hasn’t stopped booking games since, voicing roles in The Last of Us II, Call of Duty, Final Fantasy, Fallout 76 and more. Not long after, Kay booked noted animation series The Loud House, Spirit Riding Free, and Kipo and the Age of Wonderbeasts. Kay can be heard as the voice of The Starship La Sirena in Star Trek: Picard, and voices Bellroc in WIZARDS, the 3rd installment of Guillermo Del Toro’s epic trilogy, Tales of Arcadia.
About The VO Master Class
In this Master Class, together with VO veteran Kay Bess, you’ll unlock the mystery of National Brand and Imaging TV reads, and see clearly the distinctions between Image spots/campaigns and National/Regional/Local spots. You’ll know what market you’re reading for, and find all the clues - and your confidence - all in the copy itself!
