Monday Meet-Up: Commercial with Lindy Flowers

Continue to hone your skills outside of class in focused, low-cost study groups led by voice one alums who have excelled in our program. These talented voice actors will give you feedback and guidance on your reads, and offer insight into their own voice over journey.

Scripts will be provided, though you may bring your own if they match the genre of the day (Commercial)

The Audition is the Job with Calum Grant

The ratio of auditions to bookings can make it feel like auditioning is the job. That’s because it is. Tip the balance in your favor by honing your audition skills with a professional voice actor and booth director who has been on both sides of the glass. Find out how to make your auditions competitive and what you can do to get them into producer's inboxes.

From corporate narration to audiobooks, the art of telling stories is the foundation of narrative voice over. Uncover your natural "storyteller" and discover how you can have a lasting impact on the listener.

Natural Narration with Pam Lorence

Elevate your skills from passively reading aloud to actively narrating vivid projects! Through drills, games, and critical listening exercises, this class will guide you to find a connection with the text, paraphrase the story, understand the writer's intention, and paint a portrait with your words.

Basic British with Ian Price

British is commonly requested in many character and narration jobs. Immerse yourself in this dialect by developing basic London and RP accents. You’ll practice key sounds and common pitfalls, and perform scripts that put your new British accents to the test. Join this native Brit and dialects instructor for two days of the essential British dialects, and Bob's your uncle!

Professional Invitational with Mami Okada

Mami Okada is the Casting Director and Director of Operations at Bang Zoom! Entertainment.

Mami has worked on numerous animated series and films, video games, and anime for over 18 years including One Punch Man, Demon Slayer, Sword Art Online, The Seven Deadly Sins, Resident Evil 3, Pokémon Masters, Ace Combat 7, Resident Evil: Vendetta, Rainbow Butterfly Unicorn Kitty, Lego Friends, Shopkins, and Super Wings (IMDb).

Voice One's Professional Invitationals are your opportunity to meet writers, directors, producers, and advertising professionals who hire voice talent. Hear their perspectives on the industry, read copy, and receive direction. There’s a different guest each time. There are 15 performer spaces for students who want to read for our guest and receive feedback, and 15 additional 'auditor' spaces for students who wish to attend the interview and Q&A without performing, which can be a great option if you're just starting out.

Drop-In Improv with Clay Robeson

Free your pursuit for perfection while you play, laugh, and bond with a group of your fellow students. We’ll amuse ourselves with ensemble games, space object play, scene work, and failing joyfully.  All levels welcome. Students who are new to Voice One or have never attended any of our classes are also welcome!

Styles Deep-Dive: Testimonial with Sally Clawson

Tune up your commercial styles in these two-hour deep-dives. You’ll start each session by reviewing how to identify the style, then you and your classmates will dive into your reads using a curated packet of scripts.

Prerequisite: Completion of Commercial Styles or upon Sally's recommendation.

Characters In Action with Sally Clawson and Melissa Hutchison

Put a character into action by experiencing the complete audition to performance process. You'll develop dimensionality, functionality, and dynamic physicality as you inhabit a fun and out-of-this-world character throughout this 12-hour class. Set your universal translators to Marcopian and get ready for some action!
